PTT thread (Polypropylene Terephthalate elastic thread) is a high-performance sewing thread specifically designed for elastic fabrics, with its core advantages being exceptional stretch resilience and soft, comfortable characteristics.
Definition and Materials
The full name of PTT thread is “Polyethylene terephthalate elastic sewing thread”, which is made of PTT resin as raw material and processed through a special spinning process. Its unique molecular chain structure endows it with a spring like “Z-shaped spiral structure”, giving it excellent elasticity.
Core Features
Excellent stretch resilience: This is the core characteristic of PTT thread. Its elongation at break can reach up to 70%, far exceeding traditional nylon 66 thread (about 2.6 times that of nylon 66). High elongation means that it can stretch significantly along with the elastic fabric, and the seams are not easily cracked due to tension.
