What is para aramid thread?

Para Aramid thread is a high-performance sewing thread, spun from poly-p-phenylene terephthalamide (PPTA) short fibers. Renowned for its exceptional properties such as high strength, heat resistance, flame retardancy, abrasion resistance, and chemical stability. It is a specialized material designed to provide reliable stitching in extreme and harsh environments. The natural color is usually golden yellow, but it can also be customized to other colors such as black, blue, red, etc. according to needs.

Core Performance Features

High strength and high modulus: Its strength is 5 times that of steel wire of the same quality, and it has excellent resistance to cutting, tearing, and wear.

High temperature resistance and flame retardancy: Long term use temperature can reach 180 ℃, with a limit oxygen index (LOI) greater than 28. It is not easy to burn when exposed to fire and can self extinguish after leaving the flame without producing molten droplets.

Chemical stability: It has good resistance to weak acids, weak bases, and most organic solvents, and is suitable for various complex chemical environments.

Main Features

Application

Personal protection: firefighting suit, bulletproof vest, cut resistant gloves, welding apron.

Industrial filtration: sewing of high-temperature dust removal bags (used in cement plants, steel plants, and power plants), requiring the wire to be stable and not shrink at high temperatures.

Special products: aerospace equipment, high-temperature furnace insulation curtains, automotive airbags, Climbing ropes, seat belts, high-performance tents, racing suits, and cut resistant backpacks and other products.

Welding a metal frame while kneeling, sparks flying and the worker wearing protective gear including a helmet and gloves.
