Features
- High stability
- Low thermal expansion rate
- High chemical resistance
- Low specific gravity
Product Structure
- Chemical name: Poly (m-phenylenediamine).
- The amide bond (- NH-CO -) on its polymer molecular chain is connected to the meta – position of the benzene ring.
- This structure makes the molecular chains serrated, with relatively low rigidity and regularity, and weak intermolecular forces. Therefore, its strength and modulus are not high, but its structure is stable and not easily decomposed, thus possessing excellent heat resistance.
Product Performance
- High temperature resistance, flame retardancy, insulation, and chemical corrosion resistance
- Excellent heat resistance. Continuous use temperature is about 220 ° C, with a limit oxygen index (LOI) greater than 28, making it a non combustible fiber. Extinguish upon leaving the fire source.
- The strength and modulus are comparable or slightly higher than ordinary synthetic fibers such as nylon and polyester.
- Extremely low thermal shrinkage. The size is very stable at high temperatures, and the thermal shrinkage rate is very small.
Main Application Areas
The choice of which one depends entirely on the performance combination required for the final product.
Meta-Aramid Filament Thread
- Used for sewing firefighting suits, bulletproof vests, high-temperature filter bags, etc. Long silk thread has high strength, smooth surface, and is not prone to fuzzing or breakage after repeated friction.
- Used in high-temperature flue gas filtration applications with particularly demanding working conditions, excellent dimensional stability requirements, and high ash removal performance requirements. The surface of filament fabric is smooth, and dust is easier to peel off (with good cleaning effect).
- Used for making special protective clothing, safety blankets, stage curtains, etc. that require high strength and durability.
- As a flame-retardant insulation coating for cables.
Meta-Aramid Spun Thread
- Firefighting suits, industrial heat-resistant suits (such as steelmaking and welding), and flame-retardant layers on military uniforms. The fabric woven from short fiber yarns is fluffy and soft, rich in air, and has excellent thermal insulation performance, making it much more comfortable to wear than long fiber fabrics.
- Short fibers are made into non-woven filter material through needle punching technology, which is used for high-temperature flue gas dust removal (dust bag) in power plants, cement plants, and steel plants. The fluffy structure is conducive to forming a dust layer and improving filtration efficiency.
After beating the short fibers, they are made into aramid paper like traditional papermaking. This type of paper has excellent insulation (H-grade and above) and heat resistance, and is widely used for:
- Motor insulation: slot insulation and phase to phase insulation for high-speed motors and traction motors.
- Transformer insulation.
- Aerospace: Honeycomb structure material, lightweight, high-strength, flame retardant.
- Such as insulation blankets, liners, etc.
